YOUR CONSERVATION
FEE AT WORK

Extraordinary places endure thanks to the people who care for
them.

OUR COMMITMENT

TRAVEL WITH A PURPOSE.

Every Ecobiosfera tour includes a conservation fee. Together with funds from our own activities, these fees help support community-led conservation in the landscapes that inspire our journeys.

Our role is to help sustain the work. Community rangers, local monitors and conservation partners bring the knowledge, commitment and presence that make it possible.

TWO SOURCES OF SUPPORT

El Triunfo: Tour conservation fees + Ecobiosfera funds

Villa Allende-La Pera: Ecobiosfera’s own funds

01 / WHERE OUR STORY BEGAN

THE PEOPLE WHO CARE FOR EL TRIUNFO

GUARDIANES DEL JAGUAR

Since 2025, we have supported eight community rangers from Tres de Mayo: Guardianes del Jaguar, or Jaguar Guardians.

Working in pairs, they undertake week-long patrols between their community and El Triunfo base camp, covering approximately 80 kilometers. Their work contributes to biodiversity monitoring and helps maintain trails and essential infrastructure.

Support covers paid field days, food, transport and equipment. First-aid and Leave No Trace training has also been completed.

PATROLS STILL TO COME

2026 update: most patrols have been completed; two remain planned for the end of the year. Ecobiosfera helps cover periods when federal funding is unavailable.

In May, we also supported a gathering of 40 community rangers and reserve staff, in collaboration with CONANP, FONCET and Senda Sustentable: a space to share experiences, challenges and a commitment to El Triunfo.

02 / KNOWLEDGE GROWN TOGETHER

LISTENING TO THE FOREST

VILLA ALLENDE-LA PERA / REMOLAP

Community bird monitoring brings together local knowledge and ecological research in Berriozábal, Chiapas. Participants from the community of Efraín Gutiérrez work alongside Senda Sustentable, UNICACH’s Evolutionary Ecology Laboratory and the Villa Allende protected area.

REMOLAP, the La Pera and Villa Allende Ornithological Monitoring Network, is an initiative of Senda Sustentable. Ecobiosfera is its principal funder for the work described here, using its own funds rather than tour conservation fees.

This support sustains activities across 2025-2026, helping document biodiversity and strengthen community participation in conservation.

CONSERVATION IS A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT

FONCET, El Triunfo Conservation Foundation and Spirit of Alchemy are allies in our conservation vision. Each collaboration has its own role; partnership does not imply financial support for every project.
